Novant Health physician honored as compassionate caregiver

The lead caregiver at a Novant Health medical group has received an honorable mention for his work with patients and their families.

Eric Warren, MD, family physician and lead clinician at Novant Health Waxhaw Family & Sports Medicine in Waxhaw, North Carolina, has been recognized as a 2016 National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year. Dr. Warren organizes and participates in the annual Competitive Edge Sports Screening Days. These events help athletes who have limited access to healthcare.

Since 1999, the National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year awards have honored healthcare professionals who make a profound difference. Congratulations to Dr. Warren for receiving this honor.

Joel Edwards, MD, family physician and lead clinician at Novant Health Davie Medical Associates in Mocksville, North Carolina, was recognized for improving access to healthcare at the clinic. Dr. Edwards is credited with helping to extend operating hours to include weekends and holidays.
