Check in

Appointments are scheduled during regular business hours. We ask that you cancel or reschedule appointments at least 24 hours prior to the appointment time. There may be a cancellation fee if our office is not notified more than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. To check in for your appointment and complete any required administrative tasks, we ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the actual appointment time.

Text message appointment reminders

If you would like to receive an appointment reminder by text message instead of a phone call, please give your mobile phone number to a front desk team member. Next, you will simply need to text “Novant” to 622622 to sign up.

Please note that message and data rates may apply. Text “HELP” to 622622 to receive help or text “STOP” to 622622 to opt-out. Visit for more information.

New patients

We ask that new patients arrive 30 minutes prior to the appointment time to complete administrative paperwork and bring a photo ID as well as your insurance card. Having your previous medical records sent to our office prior to your visit will aid the physician with your treatment.

Office hours

Our office hours are Monday - Thursday, 8 6:30 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Confirmation & cancellation

If you must cancel your appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. There may be a cancellation fee if Novant Health Waxhaw Family & Sports Medicine is not notified at least 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. If you receive a confirmation phone call before your appointment, please note the information carefully, and respond to us if necessary.

After hours support

We do provide an after hours answering service for urgent medical problems. We ask that routine questions, prescription refills, and non-emergency appointments be made during regular business hours. If hospitalization is required, a team of in-hospital specialists will provide your care until you are discharged.

We are closed on New Years Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Indepedence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

The patient is responsible for his or her co-pay at the time of the services rendered. It will be collected before you see the provider. The co-pay is set by your insurance plan.
